SSC CHSL 2016 Notification Announced
SSC CHSL Exam is considered to be one of the most sought after, exams in India, the reason is that, basic Qualification to apply for this exam is only 10+2.
On an average, this exam is being taken by over 50 lakh candidates (79 Lakh in 2015) for a few thousand posts. This post vacancy ratio in CHSL, make its one of the most competitive exams in India.
Its even more competitive that SSC's Combined Graduate Level Exam. It is expected that for 2016 CGL Exam over 35 lakh students will appear and for CHSL Exam this No. may touch even 80 lakhs.
Another reason, that makes it more competitive is desire to get Government Jobs, so early in life at just 18 years (After completing 10+2).
As, the Selection process for this exam, comprises of only Written test, therefore, cut offs are generally higher, as only those, who qualify the written exam, will be called for Skill test and Type test. Moreover, the posts under this exam are exempted from Interview.

SSC CHSL 2016 Notification : Details
On 8th Oct, 2016, after a delay of nearly 3 months, SSC had, announced the Notification for CHSL 10+2 Exam.
For the first time, ever the CHSL Exam, will be conducted through online mode from 7th Jan, to 5th Feb, 2016.
Over 5000 vacancies have been advertised in CHSL 2016. But like previous year, the bulk of vacancies are for Postal / Sorting Assistants in Department of posts
Here is the vacancy wise and post wise break up of CHSL 2016 vacancies
1) Postal Assistant /Sorting Assistant : 3281
2) Lower Division Clerk : 1321
3) Data Entry Operator: 506
4) Court Clerks: 26
Pay-Scale : All these posts carry Pay Scale of Rs 5200 - Rs 20200 with Different Grade pays. For Postal / Sorting Assistant and Data Entry Operator, Grade Pay is Rs 2400, while for all other posts, Grade Pay is Rs 1900/-

What is the Eligibility Criteria ?
Applicants willing to appear for the 2016 CHSL Exam, must full fill the below mentioned eligibility conditions. The date of reckoning the eligibility criteria is 1st Jan, 2017.
1) Nationality : Applicant must be an Indian citizen to appear in the CHSL 2016 Exam
2) Age-Limit: The age criteria is 18-27 years. However, there are relaxation in age limit, as per the specified rules.
3) Educational Qualification (As on 01-01-2017): Applicant should have passed the Inter (12th Class) from any recognized Board or University in India.
Selection Process and Exam Pattern
The Selection process for the Recruitment to various posts through SSC CHSL Exam, comprises of Written test, Descriptive test and followed by Skill test / Typing test.
Remember, there is No Interview in the CHSL Exam. You only have to First Qualify the Written test, then appear of CHSL Descriptive Paper and thereafter, Skill test.
Written Exam: All those candidates who apply for this exam, will have to appear for written exam (Online Computer based Exam) at the specified Dates and venues. The Dates and Examination centers for written exam, will be known, only after you Download the SSC CHSL 2016 Admit cards .
It is expected that Admit cards will be available from Last week of December and SSC had fixed CHSL Online Exam on various Dates from, 7th Jan, 2017 to , 5th Feb, 2016.
The Duration of Written Exam is 75 minutes only, but visually handicapped candidates, will get an additional 25 mins time .
The complete Scheme of Written exam is given as under
Note: On the Day of exam, reach the Examination center at least 1 hour before the Exam start time. After that No Candidates will be allowed in the Examination Venue.
1) Negative Marking : Be careful, while attempting Questions, as there is penalty of 0.50 marks for every wrong answer
2) Question Paper will be bilingual ie Both in Hindi and English, except for English section
