RBI Assistant 2016 Notification Out– Total 610 Post
RBI Assistant 2016 : Reserve Bank of India (RBI) has invited applications for 610 posts of Assistants in various offices of RBI spread across various cities. Selection for the post of RBI Assistant 2016 will be done through a nation-wide competitive examination. The examination will be conducted in three phases – Preliminary, Main Examination and Interview. Applications for the post of Assistants will be accepted through Online Mode. Candidates can apply for the Post of Assistant in RBI from November 7 to 28, 2016. The Preliminary exam of RBI Assistant 2016 will be conducted on December 23 and 24, 2016. However, the Mains Examination will be conducted in January 2017
New Highlights of RBI Assistant 2016
RBI has made some changes in the Scheme of RBI Assistant 2016 recruitment. Some of the Key highlights of the RBI Assistant 2016 exam are as follows:
- The RBI Assistant Online Examination will be conducted in two phases- Preliminary and Mains Examination followed by an Interview. Earlier there used to be single examination for the post of Assistants.
- The Preliminary Examination will be conducted for 100 marks. However, the Mains Examination will be conducted for 200 marks. RBI will conduct the Interview for 35 marks.
- There will be three sections in the Preliminary Examination and in the Mains Examination there will be five sections.
- Candidates who stand sufficiently high in merit on the aggregate marks of the Objective Tests will be called for the Interview.
- Final Selection of candidates will be done on the basis of candidate’s performance in the Online Main Examination and Interview taken together in order of merit.
- The lower age limit has been increased to 20 years. The Lower Age limit for the post of Assistant earlier was 18 years.

Note: Aspirants selected for the post of Assistant in RBI will be initially posted in RBI’s Office within the Recruitment Zone for which they had applied. However, they are liable to be transferred in administrative exigencies to centres grouped and classified into West, South, North and East Zone offices.
RBI Assistant Eligibility Criteria 2016
The candidates applying for the post of RBI Assistant 2016 should fulfil the following Eligibility criteria:
Age: The candidates applying for the post should be between 20 and 28 years as on 07.11.2016. Candidates must have been born not earlier than 08/11/1988 and not later than 07/11/1996 (both days including) are only eligible to apply. Age relaxation will be provided to the candidates belonging to different categories as per government rule.
Educational Qualification: The candidate must possess a Bachelor’s Degree in any discipline with at least 50% marks in the aggregate (pass class for SC/ST/PWD candidates) as on 07.11.2016.
Language proficiency: Candidates applying for the post should be proficient in the language of the state or any of the states falling under the recruiting office.
RBI Assistant Application Form 2016
Candidates interested in applying for the post the Assistant in RBI will have to apply online. The Online Application Process has started from November 7, 2016. The Online Registration process will end on November 28, 2016. Candidates having any correction in the RBI Assistant 2016 Application Form 2016 can edit the Application Form until November 28, 2016. The Facility to take print out of the Application Form will be available until December 13, 2016. The candidates will have to pay Rs. 50 (For SC/ST/PWD/EXS) and Rs. 450 (For OBC/General candidates) as their Application Fees. Candidates applying for the examination can pay their Application Fees online from November 7 to 28, 2016.
